CASE STUDY
wearing commitment on our sleeve: a custom RAP polo for Anglicare

Anglicare Sydney, one of Australia’s most trusted providers of care for older people and support services for the vulnerable, is deeply committed to reconciliation and respectful engagement with First Nations peoples. As part of launching their latest Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), Anglicare sought a way to make this commitment more than words on paper – a way to turn strategy into visible action.

Their vision was simple but powerful: to create a staff uniform that would carry the narrative of reconciliation into everyday workplaces, meetings and communities. Uniformity is proud to have played a part in bringing this message and commitment to life through our uniform production.

This is not just a polo for First Nations staff – it’s a uniform for everyone. It’s a visible show of commitment to reconciliation across our whole organisation

Uniformity is proud to have played a part in bringing this message and commitment to life through our uniform production.

the brief

Anglicare approached Uniformity with a vision and a clear goal to transform their RAP commitment into a visible, wearable expression of purpose through a custom staff polo shirt. They asked us to;

  • Produce a high-quality uniform that features Anglicare’s newly commissioned RAP artwork and aligns with their corporate brand

  • Deliver a professional, comfortable garment that staff would be proud to wear daily, not just on special occasions.

our uniform solution

Uniformity worked closely with Anglicare to transform their powerful artwork by a First Nations artist, entitled “Our Journey, Spirit and Growth”, into a dynamic, wearable uniform. The polo top was produced in careful consultation with the artist and Anglicare’s RAP leadership, ensuring cultural significance and visual harmony with the organisation’s colour palette.

We used lightweight, breathable fabric to ensure comfort for daily wear, while ensuring durability and colour vibrancy. The supplied RAP polo design brings together the custom artwork placement, Anglicare’s logo integration and a versatile style that balances professionalism with pride.

This RAP polo is more than just a change in uniform – it signifies a shift in culture, with the new design introducing energy and purpose into Anglicare’s visual identity. It reflects the organisation’s growth, its commitment to inclusivity and importantly, the vision for a reconciled future.

our process

With the artwork and internal approval in place, Anglicare’s team gave the go-ahead to Uniformity to begin production.

From the outset, the process was streamlined and collaborative. We worked with Anglicare’s procurement team to assess quantity, manage costing and recommend the optimum print run to maximise value. Our production team ensured that the polos were manufactured, quality-checked and delivered well ahead of Anglicare’s RAP launch date.

In fact, an initial batch of 25 polos was fast-tracked to arrive before the official RAP launch on 27 May 2025 – a critical milestone that helped Anglicare showcase their commitment from day one.

the results

Even in just a short amount of time, the RAP polo has quickly become a standout piece in Anglicare’s uniform program. The shirt’s lightweight, breathable fabric and contemporary fit have earned praise amongst team members at all levels, while the culturally grounded artwork has created a sense of pride, belonging and action among employees.

More importantly, the RAP polo has become a physical reminder of Anglicare’s reconciliation journey – visible proof of an organisation actioning its principles. With nearly 6,000 employees across the organisation, the RAP polo represents far more than a design. It is an integral uniform piece that signals shared values, an inclusive future and ultimately, a visible, practical expression of Anglicare’s deep and genuine commitment to First Nations people.

When your CEO and board are asking for one, you know it’s more than just a uniform – it’s something people believe in.
