Uniformity are proud supporters of Movember.
Most of us are familiar with Movember – every November you can find men participating in the movement by growing and styling a ‘stache. But did you know there’s more ways to be involved in this important movement?
Movember first began in Australia in 2003, and since then has grown in popularity and size. Movember have funded over 1,320 men’s health projects globally – advocating to destigmatise and raise awareness about men’s mental health, suicide prevention, prostate cancer and testicular cancer. Movember is about challenging the status quo – shaking up men’s health research and transforming the way health services reach and support men.
Some ways to get involved in the month are:
- Grow a Mo: Rocking a mo during Movember shows everyone you walk past that men’s health matters to you. Let your communities know what you’re doing and why – whether it’s friends, family or coworkers! Raise funds through Movember’s online ‘Mo Space’.
- Move For Mental Health: Move is how we remember the 60 men suicide takes globally, every hour. To take part, you register online and run or walk 60km across Movember. Take it fast, or slow; run solo, or join a team; move outdoors, or jump on the treadmill – how you Move is up to you.
- Host a Mo-Ment: Gather your friends, workers, and supporters for an event that raises awareness and funds for men’s health. You can ask friends, family and local businesses to back your event by purchasing tickets, donating prizes, or even sponsoring your event. Movember even provides a Host Toolkit to streamline the hosting process.
- Mo Your Own Way: There are so many ways to show your support during Movember. Use your creativity to inspire something true to you. It could be a challenge of fitness, or a stunt to get heads turning in public! Whatever you choose, make sure you register online and encourage donations.
With two weeks left in November, it’s not too late to get involved! Click here to register for Movember.
